Studies show that approximately 80% of women suffer from some form of hormone imbalance. Rates of infertility are on the rise, affecting about 19% of women aged 15-49. Women are often taught very little about their own physiology, leaving them unsure of whatโs โnormalโ and โabnormalโ when it comes to hormonal health.
Primary care physicians, OBGYNs, and Womenโs Health Professionals sometimes fall short in supporting women with hormonal symptoms or diagnoses. They may prescribe medications or offer generic recommendations that leave many women feeling isolated, unsupported, and without answers.
Symptoms of hormone imbalance can be a result of various factors, including diet, medications, synthetic hormones, pollution, environmental toxins, and chronic stress. Unfortunately, the current healthcare system isnโt always equipped to help women in these situations.
Our goal is simple yet transformative: to educate and empower cycling women to better understand their health and hormones within a supportive community of like-minded women, all at a reasonable cost.
We provide you with the tools to take control of your health based on personalized testing and your unique symptoms.

Acupuncture is a type of traditional Chinese medicine thatโs been around for about 2,500 years. Itโs used to support wellness and improve overall mental and physical well-being. The acupuncturist places needles into specific points on the skin to help activate an energy in the body, called qi. According to traditional Chinese medicine, qi is the lifeforce energy in the body โ it helps regulate and move things in the body to keep us well. Stress, environmental factors, lifestyle behaviors, and genetics are some of the things that can block qi in the body. The needles help to unblock or move qi to other areas in the body to help support wellness.
Acupuncture needles are solid, stainless steel needles that are usually not much larger than a strand of hair. Acupuncture needles are placed at a very shallow depth and go between tissues, making them less painful than a typical injection.
You might be more sensitive in certain areas, but acupuncture shouldnโt hurt. If you feel pain, tell your acupuncturist. Theyโll adjust the needles or choose other points. Their goal is not to make you feel pain. They do a lot of work to position you properly and make sure you feel comfortable.
Indeed you can do acupuncture or massage while pregnant. It is safe and our practitioners are very well versed in how to treat pregnant women. Please let us know when you book a treatment if you are pregnant and how far along you are.
From spa treatments to functional medicine, Alive and Well offers a holistic health ecosystem at each of our three locations.
